Yesterday's Memories, Today's Traditions, Tomorrow's Legacy. The Appalachian Bowmen began as an idea to promote a sport that at the time had a small following. In 1967, a group of far-sighted men and women got together, drafted by-laws, and organized weekly shoots that, they hoped, would expose others to the enjoyment and the challenges of archery. From humble beginnings in a booth at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, to two highly attended 3-D shoots each year, the Appalachian Bowmen live up to the hopes of the founding members - to promote archery.

Our annual April and August 3-D shoots are highly attended by archers of all ages and abilities. Our April Spring Shoot / Rendezvous is the last full weekend in April and our August Summer Shoot is the third weekend of August. Both have become annual events for families from around the tri-state area. Our most recent shoot boasted over nine hundred shooters shooting carbon, graphite, cedar, and aluminium shafts at our sixty-plus targets.

The 2016 April Spring Shoot / Rendezvous will be on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, and the 2016 Summer shoot will be held on August 20th 21st . Click on the Events tab on the left for more information.
