Yesterday's Memories, Today's Traditions, Tomorrow's Legacy. The Appalachian Bowmen began as an idea to promote a sport that at the time had a small following. In 1967, a group of far-sighted men and women got together, drafted by-laws, and organized weekly shoots that, they hoped, would expose others to the enjoyment and the challenges of archery. From humble beginnings in a booth at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, to two highly attended 3-D shoots each year, the Appalachian Bowmen live up to the hopes of the founding members - to promote archery.

Our annual August 3-D shoot is highly attended by archers of all ages and abilities. In our 33nd year, our summer shoot has run the third weekend of August and has become a weekend event for families from around the tri-state area. Our most recent shoot boasted over nine hundred shooters shooting carbon, graphite, cedar, and aluminium shafts at our sixty-plus targets.

Our 2015 Summer shoot will be held on August 15th-16th. Click on the Events tab on the left for more information.
